Information used to provide access
Students can enter an access code without creating a personal account or entering their name, age, or email address. The app stores access-code records, any label assigned by the owner, expiration and device limits, and browser-session identifiers. The owner can view code records and reset or revoke access. Labels should use a nickname or class identifier rather than a child's full name.
An essential browser cookie keeps an authorized browser signed in. A session lasts up to 180 days, or until the code expires or access is revoked. The app uses a hashed, time-limited representation of the connection's IP address to limit repeated code-entry attempts. Hosting services also handle technical connection information such as IP addresses and request logs to operate and protect the service.
Microphone and practice settings
Listen Mode uses the microphone only with your browser's permission. The app analyzes sound locally to detect pitch; the app does not upload or save microphone recordings. You can turn Listen Mode off or revoke microphone permission in your browser settings.
Practice preferences and saved note sets are stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing browser storage can remove them. Information you choose to share in an app link is available to the people who receive that link; recipients still need valid app access. Avoid putting personal information into set names or shared content.
Purchases and email
For paid access, the app uses the buyer's email address, order identifiers, access-code information, and email-delivery status to verify the purchase, deliver access, prevent duplicate codes, and provide support. Access codes are stored encrypted for owner recovery and are included in the delivery email. Squarespace and its payment providers handle checkout and payment details. ClefTrax does not store card numbers.
Resend sends access and service emails and processes their contents, recipient addresses, and delivery information. These are service messages, not an automatic subscription to marketing emails.
Service providers and other websites
ClefTrax uses ChatGPT Sites/OpenAI and Cloudflare for hosting and application storage, Squarespace and its payment providers for purchases, and Resend for email delivery. These providers process information needed for those services under their own terms and privacy policies. External fingering references and other links lead to independently operated websites.
ClefTrax does not add advertising trackers, sell student information, or use microphone audio for advertising or model training.
Retention, choices, and requests
Access and purchase records are kept to administer access, recover codes, address support and refund issues, prevent fraud, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Browser preferences remain until you change or clear them. The app removes expired session and code-attempt records during maintenance associated with successful code entry; its service providers have their own retention practices.
Parents, guardians, teachers, and purchasers may contact click@clicktraxstudios.com about information associated with their access code or purchase, including requests for access, correction, or deletion. Include an order number or code label rather than a password. We may need to verify the request, and removing records needed for access can end that access. Do not submit a child's personal information through support unless it is needed to resolve the request.
Changes
If information practices change, this notice will be updated. Material changes affecting information already collected will be addressed as required by applicable law.
